Hi. I'm Nichola.
UX designer, crazy cat lady, organiser of...well anything.
I love to decorate my home in all things calm and zen (hello Japandi vibes), go walking in the woods and wind down with a book by candlelight (it makes it blummin' difficult to read but super cosy, right?
Anyway, let's talk design.
I think in systems and processes designed to create space, order and efficiency. And it can be anything. A messy spreadsheet, a cluttered house, a box of cables.
It's not always fun or easy (anyone who's tried unravelling Christmas lights when you pull them out of storage will know what I mean).
But something in me wants to make it right. I want to make life smoother so that when someone comes to hang up the Christmas lights next year, it's a walk in the park and not a rabid dog chase through brambles.
And when it's done it is incredibly satisfying!
My aim is to make life just that little bit easier, with less friction and more time to get out and enjoy life.
Creating order isn't enough. I also need that creative spark. Thats the magic sauce. I want to take that idea and watch it become something tangible, beautiful, elegant.
And let me tell you - my spreadsheets are resplendent! Colour co-ordinated to perfection! And not just for visual aesthetics either, but for purpose! I dont do anything without a purpose. See Im also passionate about the 'why.
Great question. 'Why gets to the root of the matter. If you dont know the 'why, how can you successfully achieve what you set out to do? In design, that might be understanding the user, the business goals, the overarching strategy.
The 'why isnt always clear, or obvious. But when you discover it, the path forward starts to make sense and you get that tingly feeling that this is going to really make a difference!
Thats it for now, no need to ramble on is there?
If youre reading this, Im probably already in your contacts. But if not or you'red like to get in touch even more, my details are below.
